Beautiful by design. Quiet and secure when not in use. Decisive when placed on the bridge.
Discover the purpose ↓A distinctive new form
CECILIA “Sordino” is not only beautiful; it addresses the familiar compromises of existing mutes—rattling when parked, insufficient muting and awkward removal during performance.
Sordino remains quiet and secure when not in use, while becoming a distinctive visual accent on the instrument.

Quiet when resting
Parked behind the bridge, Sordino is held quietly and securely in place. Its compact form is designed to avoid unwanted vibration, while remaining immediately available to the player.

Material and geometry serve the musical purpose of a concert mute.
A performance tool conceived with the presence of a precious object.

The musical purpose
A concert mute changes the voice of the instrument. The material and unique shape of Sordino are developed around that true purpose: to create a refined shift in color while preserving a responsive, musical connection.

Designed and developed in the USA
Every curve and point of contact has a job: remain secure, move efficiently and avoid becoming a distraction. The spiral form gives Sordino a visual identity of its own—recognizable from the hall, yet intimately connected to the instrument.
